Welcome to Intelec!
My name is John Young. I am the new Intelec Net Administrator.
After many years at the helm of Intelec, Cliff Watkins has stepped
down and I have taken on this key job. I know that the many friends
Cliff has made over the years wish him well and since we still will
be seeing him as an active participant in Intelec, we won't really
even have to say good-bye to an old friend <G>.
I have been a member of Intelec for about 3 years. I started
as a node, moved along to Hub, Regional, Super-Regional and now find
myself in the very fortunate position of being able to take up the
leadership of Intelec. I certainly hope I can manage the "shop" as
well as Cliff has, I know I will try with vigor!
On the personal side, I am 56 years old, very happily married to
a wonderful woman, Susan (Sue), and have two fine children, Holly, 11,
and Michael, 9. Our whole family works with and uses computers, even
the kids, although we don't really think of ourselves as a "computer
family". We find computers to be a useful tool for what each of us
does. Of course, it was through computers that we discovered Intelec,
so we would have to say they have played an important part in our lives
as well.
I have a broad business background, which I think will be well
suited to the tasks ahead running our fine network. This should give
us the extra insight that will be needed to keep up with the rapidly
changing world of telecommunications, as we head into the 21st century.
As an inventor, I also have some new concepts to work with that we
hope will eventually materialize into some innovative and bright new
ways to bring people the best in telecommunications. We think that
will give Intelec strength in the future that will make us a network
to be reckoned with!
As we begin 1996 as the new Administrator of Intelec, I ask all
of you to join with me in helping to make our fine network even better
than before. We look for growth, but never with compromise. We never
want to abandon the values that have seasoned Intelec so well, making
it a premier family-oriented network that the entire family can enjoy.
I can promise you that during my tenure as Administrator of Intelec,
quality will always be our first and foremost goal.
John Young
